E-mail the County
Our goal is to send e-mails to the County to let them know:
(1) We oppose
the adoption of Shelter-in-Place.
(2) We oppose the County's "approach that argues for residential
compatibility with wildland fire" (as stated on page 2 of the County's Wildland Fire and Fire Protection policy
approved on March 19, 2007).
(3) We oppose the County's statement (also on page 2) that "the goals
of protecting people and structures from death or damage during wildfires has changed from suppessing all wildland fires,
to learning to live with them, through greater political leadership, agency innovation, public involvement and community responsibility."
We believe the correct and rational approach is to curtail the building
of high-density developments in dangerous, severe-fire-hazard wildland areas. That is the rational
and responsible approach to saving lives and property.
